Recover: Wearables + Health

Sleiman September 29, 2014

Over the weekend, we joined the SAMSAO team at the Montreal Wearhacks event. The project we decided to work on was related to one specific aspect of the healthcare system: the recovery. After a surgery or injury you go through a bunch of exercises to make sure your body is back to 100%.

We found that this process could be highly improved by simple platform where physiotherapists and patients can connect.

For the physiotherapist, we built a backend where they can see their patients and create a program for them.

For the patients, we built an app where they can see the program made for them. They get badges and points for completing the exercises and for their progress. They can also track their results, find out if they are doing it right.

At the end of the day, the physiotherapists can follow the progress from their computer and adjust the program accordingly.

The app is called Recover and it was built for iOS.  We used Parse for the backend and the Javascript + Foundation to build the website.
