Plastic Surgeries becoming common in Lebanon

Over the last few years, Lebanon’s economy has improved manifold. There are numerous industries coming up in Lebanon such as real estate and even plastic surgery today Lebanon can boast of being as the capital of plastic surgeries in the Arab states in the Middle East. Lebanon has an able team of highly proficient surgeons who cater to foreign clients as well as the local middle class.

The plastic surgery industry saw its boom 2000 onwards. After 2000, there have been thousands of people coming to Lebanon to do plastic surgery. Lebanon has widely accepted the new laws where a woman’s face is no longer to be compulsorily covered behind a veil. Women in Lebanon want to look beautiful too and hence many of them go for plastic surgeries such as nose and lip surgeries. The plastic surgeons in Lebanon can be termed as magicians since they can correct the most crooked of noses and even remove double chins.

Studies show that 60% of the clients for plastic surgeries in Lebanon are local while the rest 40% come from other Arab states. However it is true that in some Arab states plastic surgery is still prohibited. Studies further show that approximately 1.5 million plastic surgery operations are done in Lebanon every year. Too add to this, Lebanon plastic surgeons carry out 10 million skin lifting procedures.

The cost plastic surgery are quite lower when compared to other countries. For example, a nose job to correct a crooked nose will cost around 2000 dollars while a similar surgery in London will set you back by at least 5000 dollars. Hence many people prefer to fly to Lebanon and get the surgery done there as the total costs will be lesser than getting it done in their own country. There has also been an increase of demand for breast implant surgeries as the rich Lebanon women want to keep in line.
